There is always a delay between you turning the wheel and the car in the game responding. This fact makes any serious gaming virtually impossible. With the standard controller there is no delay. I have tested the same game on the same console with the standard controller and the wheel and the difference in response time is huge: practically instantaneous with the controller and about half a second later with the wheel. I tried this Burnout Revenge as the car can be controlled with the left joystick on the wheel or the wheel itself and is much better to control the car with the joystick. I guess with time and practice you kind of compensate for this delay and play becomes possible again but this should not be the idea. I wonder if other wheels suffer from this problem as well.Get more detail about Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel.

If you want a good wheel, this is simply one of the best. Look no further for quality. The problem is just that in-game, it's much harder to use than a regular controller. It's one of those things that's just kind of a cool novelty to simulate "realism," but the fact is that not many games control well with this.
GRID:
It works very badly with GRID. Worst of any game I tried. The controls are too sensitive in GRID and it ends up being really frustrating. With a ton of tweaking, it can be possible to make it around the track, but not with near the finesse or precision you can achieve with the controller. This game is just made with a controller in mind.
Burnout Paradise:
This game works OK with the wheel. It doesn't feel quite right, and there are no settings you can adjust in this game to tweak anything, but what they have is alright. Controller still lets you move quicker though and is generally more fun and less frustrating.
Project Gotham Racing 3:
It works well with this game, though once again a controller should be used if you actually want to win instead of having fun simulating "realism." If you're playing with winning in mind you will be frustrated, but it is still pretty cool with this game. The force feedback works especially well in this game.
Midnight Club LA:
The wheel was obviously heavily factored into the making of this game. It just works great. This is the only game where I'm not sure if it actually could be better to use the wheel instead of the controller. With a little tweaking, you can achieve a level of smoothness and accuracy with the wheel that simply isn't possible with a controller. The force feedback is also well done here. It is actually fun to use the wheel with this game.
That covers all the racing games I have, so there you have it. If you like Midnight Club LA or you want to simulate in PGR3, then this wheel might be for you, but if you are just thinking it might be "cool" to have the wheel like I was and that it would make racing games SO much cooler, it doesn't so don't buy it in that case. For me it's kinda a novelty, and now it collects dust because it's too big to merit dragging out of the attic just to play a quick game. Which brings up another thing: it is really bulky. You can't hide it or fold it up nicely. It's just BIG and that's the way it is. So all in all, please, casual players please do not buy this, you'll be wasting your money. If you know you want a huge wheel as a permanent fixture in your living room or gaming room, then maybe this will work for you.Get more detail about Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel.

This racing wheel is amazing. It makes my experience with racing games 5 times more exiting. I was at first considering buying a racing wheel from fanatec (costing upwards of $250), but did not like the high price. The wheel is very high quality, being made out of rubber and shiny chrome (thats what drew me in)--it is a very impressive design. I have used it for about a week, and it is working fantastically. The force feedback makes it a blast to use. I was a bit worried that there would be a lag in the wheel (because it is wireless), but there is none. The wheel uses the same wireless technology as the xbox 360 wireless controller, so there is no need to worry about a lag. I personally enjoy using the wheel with Forza Motorsport 2, and have had great experiences with FUEL game and Burnout Paradise as well. I am very impressed with this wheel even though it has been on the market for a few years now. I highly recommend this wheel to anyone wanting a more realistic feel for their racing games, and to anyone looking for a lot of entertainment.Get more detail about Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel.

Lowest Price Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel
After having gone back and forth with buying a wheel for my favorite racing games. I finally bought one used locally. Now i'm an older gamer, and an avid racing game fan so the thought of adding more realism to my games seemed like a no brainer. I got the wheel hooked it up in a matter of a few minutes, and had it fired up ready to go. By now everyone should know that the wheel is not truly wireless, and needs an external power source for the force feedback aspect of the wheel. it also needs either a rechargeable plug and play unit or 2 double A batteries. Hit connect on the console, and on the wheel, and BAM you're ready to go. I tried the enclosed Forza 2 demo but if you don't already own the full game shame on you. Wheel does take some getting used to and like a few reviews have said the pedals and my table of choice tend to slide, but i hear a yoga mat works wonders and have to get one of those before Forza 3 streets.
I like the feel of the wheel and the positive and negative feedback that it provides me over the rumble strips, gravel traps, and the occasional grassy stretch as i go shooting off the course at speed. For me it really does add a new level of realism to the game, and i really enjoy it. I am still in the learning stages so i have yet to break old lap times, but wanted to share my feelings. I love the wheel and it feels very responsive during the races (even if this one was used) I noticed moving through the turns, and uneven straights the wheel will fight you a bit. The pedals seem very sturdy under usage and appear to give me finer control over acceleration. The paddles feel like the real thing to me but i have little experience with any real world car equipped with them, but like I said. They feel good to me! I do wish that it had a little more rotation but i don't think that it is really necessary more like a personal choice than anything else.
For fine tuning things like paint, vinyls and so on in games like need for speed, or Forza i would strongly suggest going back to the standard control pad for that finer control rather then using the wheel, D-pad, and paddle shifters to move around with.
Overall I am VERY happy with my purchase, and hope that this helps others who are stuck on the fence like i was. This is the table i used for the stand, and it works really well provided you add a little book or something to really clamp it down tight.

Low Price Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel
Before choosing this wheel, DO research the primary games you intend to use it with, to ensure compatibility because this wheel isn't 100% compatible with all Xbox 360 games. Test Drive Unlimited is a case in point; the paddle shifters aren't properly mapped and can't be, so they're useless. The steering is so insensitive, even at maximum setting, that it feels more like you're driving a boat than car. These are software specific issues so you might be able to work around it.
Unfortunately, the biggest issue can't be worked around very well. The physical design of the pedal attachment uses a 'loop' configuration where your heels are supposed to sit inside the 'loop to keep the pedals from sliding away. That means you have to be sitting at a certain angle to use it and your feet have press the pedals down rather than forward. Worse, your foot never rests on the pedal-platform itself. This latter problem results in you needing to use 1 foot for the brake and 1 foot for the accelerator, rather than being able to move freely and confidently with 1 foot, between the two pedals like you would in a real car. If the pedal platform was a flat surface, with some extension on the sides, one foot could rest on the side and hold it in place while the other foot controlled the pedals, the way you can with the better designed racing wheels. I am new to gaming, but I know when i'm having fun, and using this wheel with Dirt 2 is a blast! My only gripes are that the pedals don't have resistance like a real race car, and that with Dirt 2, the paddle shifters don't allow gear selection, but other than that, I'm hooked.Get more detail about Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel.

Cheapest Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel
I purchased this to play in conjunction with Forza 2 and eventually Forza 3. I have to be honest; I've only used it a handful of times. As an avid gamer of 20 years I am not new to gaming, but have not owned a racing wheel. When I first used it, I was fairly impressed with the pedal setup and force feedback the wheel provides. However after the next few times I noticed that the force feedback more than overcompensates for oversteer and turning mistakes. And because of this, the very thing I bought the wheel for - more realism actually took some of it away. Also, the game is considerably more difficult for gamers (seems to be the opposite for non-gamers). Naturally if you think about it, it makes sense. There is more movement, more things to manage, both your hands and feet are working as well as your arms. Gamers are used to basically moving their pointer finger and thumb. But it's easier for non-gamers because everybody has driven a car.
The positives are: construction is solid, comes with paddle shifters for another dimension of realism, pedals feel lifelike and of course the illusion that you're driving a real car. And my parents like it - because it's not a game controller. The price also is at least reasonable. I paid well under $100 for mine. Unfortunately the ergonomics and the force feedback make the original price seem a little much. The experience is reminiscent of a steering wheel on a car that is out of alignment. You turn and the car turns about a half second later. When you go around turns and the back end kicks out, you compensate but the force feedback gives the wrong message and you turn the wheel too far. Maybe with many hours of practice this could be understood. But for most the learning curve is so high that they most likely will end up shoving the wheel inside a closet for most of it's life.
One of the other issues is that you need a bunch of room. If you're mimicking a car, the pedals will need to be 1-3 feet from your chair and the pedal overhangs the pedal stand, so you don't want to be too close to the TV or you won't have full functionality of your gas and brake. After that you'll need to decide how you're going to sit the module on your legs. Or if you have a table of the appropriate height (not likely) you can try that. It would be the weirdest height table - somewhere between a coffee table and a desk. It feel like you should have a strap around the wheel, because it will move around during spirited turns. This absolutely kills the realism - for obvious reasons. I'd recommend this to younger gamers like 13 and under or to an occasional racing game enthusiast. But for those looking for that supra-realism you'll probably have to spend more money. Get more detail about Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel.

Buying Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel
I am very happy with this purchase, but the force feedback is very intense at times and needs a steady and solid surface to keep it steady. It charges the standard Xbox 360 controller battery if force feedback is plugged in, which I thought was a nice addition. Also you can operate without force feedback simply by unplugging it, which is also a nice addition.Get more detail about Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel.

Most of the reviews of this wheel are dead on. It works fantastically, and totally improves the experience of the xbox racing games. I'm playing Forza Motorsport 3 with this thing, and it's a blast.
My only knock on it is pretty much the same one everyone makes... The pedals slide around on carpet a little too easily. MS needs to put retractable carpet spikes or something on the next rev.

Purchase Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel
This racing wheel is a woeful product. First let's look at the physical hardware, and then we'll consider how it performs with Forza 3.
One of the fist things you will notice about the wheel is how small it is. Think personal pan pizza size, somewhere around 10 inches. If you've ever had occasion to drive a real car, even a sports car, you know that this is incredibly small and unrealistic. In terms of buttons, it seems to have all that you would expect, except for the left and right shoulder buttons. This is a big oversight, considering many games utilize them. Another area that I found rather disappointing was the battery and power configuration. The wheel has a receptacle for a standard xbox controller power pack, but this power pack alone only allows the wheel to function at a minimal level. In order to receive the full force feedback you need to plug it into an outlet, which is inconvenient to say the least. I don't recall the package indicating that this 'wireless' wheel actually requires being plugged in to an outlet to be 100% functional. There is also a lack of configuration options that you might expect, such as wheel sensitivity, wheel acceleration, force feedback adjustment, etc. The box also touts a 'lap mount' which I expected to be something that you might hook under or around your legs for support. But no, 'lap mount' apparently means it just sits on your lap. The 'table mount' that is provided is some kind of joke as the mount requires it to be mounted to the side of the table, rather than the center. At any rate, none of the tables in my house would work with this mount, and I suspect non of yours would work either.
The gameplay experience with Forza 3 is just as disappointing as the hardware. The overall feel of the wheel when driving is so far outside the realm of reality it will boggle your mind to the point of ruining your gameplay experience. Imagine that you test drove a car that required you to manhandle the wheel even at cruising speed. Would you buy such a car? I wouldn't. I've driven old and new cars, sports cars and econoboxes, power steering and non power steering vehicles, and none of them has fought back as much as this racing wheel. It is truly insane and will have you wondering if anybody that designed this product has even driven a car. The wheel torques so hard, and resists movement so much, that if you lift the wheel up off of your lap it will violently spin and shake the entire base station around. If you've ever caught a large and irritated fish, it is something like that.
It is possible that I was expecting too much from this product, but then again, $100 is a decent amount of money to spend on a peripheral, and I think others will agree with me that this wheel falls short.
I think this would be an OK product for kid that doesn't have many expectations, but as an adult and a long time driver, this wheel is irritating and unrealistic in the extreme.Get more detail about Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel.

Order Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel
I bought 2 wireless racing wheels 2 years ago when they were first released. I never abused them and always had a blast playing with them. Neither of them works anymore.
I'd like another but I can't imagine buying a product that's already broken on me twice.
I paid about $130 each for them back then. So now I'm $250+ in the hole and have not even a single wheel to use. Microsoft of course doesn't want to help me out.
I even own the Playseats Evolution seat and have one of the wheels mounted. I'm very disappointed in the durability of this product and cannot recommend them for purchase.
The only alternative I have is the FANTEC Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel and it's entirely too expensive. I wish MSFT would just liscense Logitech to build one of these. Perhaps they could come up with a quality product.
For all of you people who can't use the wheel. Drive from the road view, if you drive up above the car(3rd person)
your brain cannot comprehend what is going on because you're turning on an axis out in front of you. It's unnatural.

Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel
Pretty cool. A lot of fun with Forza 3. After 2 weeks with this I am still better with a controller, but this makes games much more fun to play. I'm glad I bought it. Only complaints are that its not truly wireless as it has to be plugged into the wall for force feedback and the wheel has to have a phone cord connected to the base (I don't really care, but I have tripped over the cord once when I jumped up real quick to answer the phone) and the floor pedals to not stick real well to carpet (I put a tiny thin pillow under the front and it doesnt move). I don't recommend this if you are shooting for a record breaking time as the controller is more accurate, but it is definitely more fun!Get more detail about Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel.

I bought this wheel for use on Forza 3. It works quite well, the wheel is very responsive, and the force feedback adds a nice tactile sensation to the game. My only complaint relates to the pedals, which are attached to the main wheel unit by a telephone cord with poor cable routing that makes them not sit on the floor quite right. There's also no force feedback on the pedals, and the springs under them are fairly weak, so my leg gets tired any time I have to hold the gas half way down. We all would like to purchase items like this at super cheap prices but for $84 I think I made a solid purchase. the construction is very good and doesn't feel cheap. The wheel fits into my lap perfectly and does not slide around when steering. I have had no issues with the foot pedal sliding around the carpet either which I know that some folks who reviewed this had that problem. Only issue I had was the initial setup. The manual says install the driver from the CD to your XBOX but for some reason, my disc did not contain drivers. It took a while for my xbox to recognize the wheel but have had no connection issues with it since. well, it is easier to control a car with a steering wheel than a controller. this wheel has a 'feedback' feature when you plug it in, which makes it wired but it is worth it. the feed back is basically trying to replicate real driving features like when you turn sharp it is a little harder to turn the wheel. and when you let the wheel go it turns back to upright position...and it shakes a little bit over bumps...I only used it for a month now but I am happy with it so far. Pros:
-- Great for its price! (compared to some of the more fancy ones that sell for $300+)
-- Driving feels *very real*, thanks to the excellent force feedback when you plug the wheel in. I've only used it with Forza3, so I still dont know the experience with other racing games.
-- the pedals are beautifully responsive, and I'm really pleased with having the ablility of driving at varying levels of acceleration, and not just at 9/10ths or 100% all the time using the basic controoller.
Cons:
-- Doesnt have all the buttons that are on the 360 controller, so I'm missing things like the free-view rotating button, for one.
-- the wheel has a clamp that can be fixed to most tables, but for some thicker table-tops it may not fit as well, and that might lead to a less-than-optimal driving experience. Sometimes, heavy vibrations might make the clamp come loose and then I have to pause the game to tighten the clamp again. I love the racing games on Microsoft's Xbox 360 and I have played them all with a standard controller. That is until I bought the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel last week. Sure it took a little getting used to after years of steering with a thumb-stick but within 10 laps I had become accustomed to the feel of a wheel and pedals.
Being an owner of both Xbox 360 and PS3 I was holding out for a wheel that could be used with both. Logitech with their top of the line wheels G25 and G27 were my first pick but are not licensed to work with the Xbox 360. Knowing that most of my racing games are for the Xbox I could not see spending so much money for a wheel I couldn't use all the time. So the only choice is the Microsoft wheel, but I didn't want to pay $150 price tag it use to have. Even at $99 I still think it might be a bit overpriced which is why I waited for a good sale and picked it up for half a Benjamin.
Consider that the Wireless Racing Wheel does come a bit gimped. Although it connects wirelessly to the Xbox it still comes with wires, one from the wheel to the pedals and one to A/C power adapter for Force Feedback. Also the gear selection can only be done with the shifter paddles, no nob or H-position shifter option like the G25/G27. But it does have a place to connect your XBL headset if that matters.
Overall the build quality is superb and the feel is great but my only complaint is the pedals feel way to loose and spongy. For less than a hundred dollars though it is one of the least expensive driving wheels and definitely worth owning.Get more detail about Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel.

I decided to take the plunge and by the XBOX 360 wireless racing wheel. I have 3 games that I can play using the wheel and they are PGR3, GRID, and DIRT. I logged many hours into all three games before I bought the racing wheel, hoping that it would extend the life of the games. It has done just that. It is a lot of fun to use this wheel instead of the standard controller. It puts you "in the game" that much more. I don't normally use the cockpit view when racing, but I found that view to work really well when using the racing wheel. More natural I guess. I can't say that it improved my driving all that much, but I found that once I got used to the wheel, my driving was about the same. Maybe a little faster, but not by much. However, the wheel is much more fun to use and I do recommend it to any one who is looking for a more realistic feel to a driving game. There are some negatives though. When using the wheel, you have to use the D-pad to move the camera around which can be tough to do. In some games you can't move your head at all like you can when using the controller. Also, for some reason it seems that my wheel found it's center point a little to the left. To go in a straight line, I have to hold the wheel a little to the left. I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem. I may take it back and swap it out with another one, maybe the one I have is bad or something. Also, find a table. I did not like using the wheel sitting in my lap. I found a TV dinner tray table to work pretty good. I can put my legs down in between the table legs to get to the gas and brake pedals. I use my legs to brace the table as it is a little wobbly. Overall, very satisfied with the racing wheel.Get more detail about Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel.

GET ON THE ROAD TO DRIVING NIRVANA!
I got the XBox Racing Wheel along with Forza 3 for Xmas. I have never really gotten into racing sims because they always seem very arcady and racing a car with a button controller is not like driving. This wheel and the Forza 3 game has made a believer of sim racing out of me. With the Forza 3 behind the wheel view and the driving wheel you are really racing. I feel like I can experience pretty much what a driver would experience in a real car and real race track. I have the wheel attached to a heavy folding TV dinner table and the foot petals fit underneath. It's workable but not a racing car like position (I plan to remedy that soon-see below). After a few minutes of wiring together the foot pedal with the wheel and plugging it in the XBox wheel connected seamlessly with the XBox console and the Forza 3 game. Then it was a few test track races with the assists on. Right away I was winning races and soon I was removing the assists one by one. I really attribute the instant enjoyment and fast progress to the wheel since I was never that good with the controllers. After a few days I am braking, driving manual transmission and still winning races. I have ordered a Bob Earl Virtual Racing Chassis but not received it yet but I anticipate that will make the racing experience even more immersive and fun. I will update this with a review of the wheel once I get the VRC. Get more detail about Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel.

I was on my way to invest in the Fanatec Porsche Turbo S Racing Wheel and chair because I'm that serious in regards to racing games, but decided against it due to Project Natal and therefore as per three Microsoft Xbox 360 representatives, obviously a steering wheel will no longer be necessary. So, to somewhat quell my thirst for the time being, I purchased Microsoft's racing wheel. The wheel itself is solidly contructed and can be placed on the lap or mounted upon a flat surface. The gamer also has the option to plug in a headset and the wheel like most has force feedback. The two pedals are adequate and are mounted upon a plastic platform and if handled roughly could break. The racing wheel does not have a gear shifter nor a third pedal which true enthusiastic gamers such as myself miss. Overall, a decent racing wheel for the price. Wow. The wheel makes the game so much more like actually driving a car. You just need a secure place to mount the wheel and pedals so they don't slide.Get more detail about Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel.
